Intercom systems
The Contacta STS-K037RB is part of the STS intercoms systems. When normal speech is not possible due to a barrier of, for example glass or a safety screen, this communication method is used. A combination of loudspeakers and microphones on both sides of the barrier make it possible to communicate with each other.
Additionally, the STS intercoms systems come with a hearing loop aerial that makes the intercom easy to use for people wearing hearing aid.
Contact STS-K037RB
Contacta STS-K037RB intercom system is often used at banks, post offices, theatres or airports. It concerns situations where the conversation between two or more persons takes place at a counter or desk, but with a barrier in between. This intercoms system consists of the following components:
- 2-way amplifier
- Microphone curved to the right with build-in loudspeaker on the customer side
- Standing microphone with built-in loudspeaker on the staff side
- Hearing loop aerial
The curved microphone on the customers side has a build-in loudspeaker. It offers a high quality of speech reproduction. Compared to the other STS intercoms this solutions has the advantage of being a low space solution for smaller counters due to the curved microphone. For this reason, Contacta often calls the STS-K037RB solution the “Curved Microphone Kit”. The standing microphone on the staff side is easy to mute using a pushbutton. With the adjustable neck of the microphone, it is easy to change the height of the microphone.
Operation and installation
System installation is easy. The amplifier features a 2-way communication option, an energy-saving ‘green’ standby mode and digital signal processing. The curved microphone on the customer side can be easily put on the surface of the counter or table and doesn’t need a lot of space. The STS-K037RB has a curved microphone to the right and comes in the color black.
Optionally, it is possible to place the included hearing loop aerial under the counter or desk. When connected to the amplifier, microphones and loudspeakers, it delivers a magnetic pulse. A hearing aid can then receive the magnetic pulses with the T-coil in the hearing aid and convert it into sound.
