Pan Acoustics PB224-IP54-AES-EBU loudspeaker
The Pan Acoustics PB224-IP54-AES-EBU is a 2-way music and speech loudspeaker and part of the Pan Beam PB224 and PB248 series. This active loudspeaker combines DSP functions, high-frequency drivers, digital amplification and Beam Steering Technology of own design, in a compact, lightweight, elegant aluminium housing. In addition, the loudspeaker has sixteen internal digital amplifiers, each with a wattage of 100. The loudspeaker is provided with several steerable sound beams, which can be precisely adjusted to the desired audience. This provides the loudspeaker with a vertically adjustable opening angle of no less than five to forty degrees. The constant sound pressure and volume ensure excellent speech intelligibility and evenly distributed, natural sound reproduction, even in large spaces.
Fully controllable, fully adjustable and customisable
This black loudspeaker is equipped with Multiple Beam Technology and has multiple digitally steerable sound beams. The vertical and horizontal opening angle can be adjusted separately. With this Beam Steering Technology from Pan Acoustics, the sound beams can be precisely focused on the audience. The loudspeaker has two RJ-45 connectors. Because of this, the loudspeaker can be integrated with other devices and systems, such as an evacuation system, through an RS-485 network. The inputs are equipped with automatic priority switching, which is useful in emergency situations. For extra ease of installation, the PB224-IP54-AES-EBU is equipped with an AES/EBU connection. AES/EBU is typically used to send PCM and Dolby Digital 5.1, but is not bound by any sampling rate or audio standard. Up to 256 Pan Beam loudspeakers can be included in a Pan Beam network and controlled simultaneously. For control over the internal audio processor/DSP functions, and for advanced remote monitoring, the PB224-IP54-AES-EBU loudspeaker can be connected to a computer. Pan Acoustics offers efficient, user-friendly and compact software for Windows. With the help of this professional software, for example, the opening angle and tilt angle, the volume, the delay (up to 370ms) and a 5-band parametric equalizer can be set. It also gives control over the Beam Steering Technology. Using the software, up to four networks can be controlled and managed, making it easy to operate a whopping total of 1024 Pan Beam loudspeakers in an audio installation. During installation, the Pan Acoustics PB224-IP54-AES-EBU can be easily checked and controlled by a media control. The volume, sound and delay can be adjusted as required. Due to the low power consumption, during use and even more so in standby, this loudspeaker is very energy efficient.

The 248 models from the Pan Acoustics Pan Beam PB224 and PB248 series are double the size and weight of the 224 loudspeakers. They are also equipped with twice as many digital amplifiers, but with the same wattage of 100 per amplifier. Another three weatherproof models can be found in these series, for outdoor use, the PB224-IP54, PB248-IP54 and PB248-IP54-AES-EBU. Three other loudspeakers from the series are equipped with an AES/EBU connection for extra ease of installation, the PB224-AES-EBU, PB248-AES-EBU and PB248-IP54-AES-EBU. Finally, a couple of the column loudspeakers from this series can be integrated into a Dante network. These models come with the addition -D at Tau, such as the PB248-D.
