SoundTube IPD open ceiling loudspeakers is a series of IP addressable 8” loudspeakers. The signals are delivered to the loudspeaker via a single CAT5 or CAT6 cable. This way, power, audio and control functions can be connected simply and quickly. The loudspeakers from this series are equipped with a built-in amplifier, which means that the power comes from a PoE or PoE + switch, or from SoundTube’s STNet Switch, which supplies 40 watts of Power over Ethernet (PoE) to each loudspeaker. Configuration and zoning of the loudspeakers is done via software. If problems occur with a loudspeaker during use, this is reported via the SoundTube software.
The housing of the open ceiling loudspeakers is made of injection-molded ABS with fiberglass reinforcement for lasting durability inside or in outdoor applications. The grille is made of aluminium with a protective powder coating for long-term resistance to the elements. The loudspeakers are finished with high-quality black or white paint and are also paintable. The components inside the loudspeakers are made weatherproof, as well. This also applies to the wire connections which are protected by a water-resistant plug. The loudspeakers are equipped with BroadBeam technology for high-frequency distribution and Dante I/O for transmission of the audio signals.
For quick, easy and safe installation of the loudspeakers, they are supplied with mounting material, in the form of cables and a built-in mounting plate. A threaded opening is provided on top of the locking cover plate for direct-to-conduit mounting. Alternatively, the open ceiling loudspeakers can also be installed using the galvanized steel cable attached to the speaker chassis, via the fixed cable end that interlocks with the integrated mounting bracket. The transmission paths of audio, control and power run via a standard CAT5 or CAT6 Ethernet cable, which is connected via the RJ45 Ethernet port.
